County Convention

Extra-legal gatherings to which the towns in a Massachusetts county sent delegates to represent them. County conventions were a popular method of organizing protests and expressing grievances before the American Revolution. Many Massachusetts counties held conventions during the unrest that culminated in the Regulation movements of 1786-87, or Shays' Rebellion.
